A great deal can be learned about an ancient culture by reading their poetry and myths. Where today's writers reflect their lives and times through creative writing, ancient writers used writing primarily for religious purposes, important inscriptions, and record-keeping. Ancient writings were often made on clay tablets while a writer today may use a monogrammed writing journal or computer to record his thoughts and ideas. |
